Rosatom Leads the World Market

The state corporation “Rosatom” ranks first in the world in the number of designed reactors for nuclear power plants. This information is contained in the annual report of the leading project enterprise of “Atomproekt” corporation for 2014. According to the data given in the report, the company “Rosatom” designed 30 nuclear power units as of the end of 2014, accounting for 41 percent of the total number of designed nuclear power units in the world.

The second place belongs to the American Westinghouse (17 designed units by the end of 2014, 23 percent of the world market). The third line is taken by the South Korean ‘Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power ‘(KHNP, 12 units and 16 percent of the market).

They are followed by the French Areva (5 units, 7 percent of the market). Earlier it was reported that “Rosatom” intended to increase the portfolio of orders abroad 1.5 times – up to 150 billion dollars - by 2030. The decline in the Russian economy seriously affected the activities of the company both on the domestic market and abroad.

“Rosatom” unites more than 200 enterprises and scientific and technical organizations of the Russian nuclear industry. The revenues of the company, according to IFRS, amounted to 618 billion roubles in 2014, EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) – to 211 billion roubles. The portfolio of orders abroad made up 101.4 billion dollars (5.5 trillion roubles).
