The Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of “Gazprom” Aleksandr Medvedev allowed the postponement of the implementation terms of the “Turkish Stream” project to the end of 2017. According to “Interfax”, he said that at the V St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
According to him, if they postpone the project for a year, nothing bad will happen. “We could implement the project of the first string in December 2016. Now the terms are moved, since there is no intergovernmental agreement” – Medvedev explained. He added that it all depended on how quickly the document would be signed. In addition, the project affects the political situation in Turkey, where there will be a new government after the elections on November 1.
Earlier, on October 6, the Head of “Gazprom” Aleksei Miller said that the company had decided to half the capacity of the pipeline of “Turkish Stream” - down to 32 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
