In 2016, GDP of Russia will decrease by 1.2 percent, according to experts interviewed by "Development Centre" of the Higher School of Economics (HSE). This information is contained in the report entitled "Comments on the business and the state" that is available on "Lenta.ru".
At the same time in 2017 the majority of the experts who participated in the survey expect the resumption of growth in the Russian economy. In the long term the GDP growth, according to the analysts, will reach two percent by 2020, and then it will stabilize at this level. The Economic Development Ministry forecasts a decline in GDP by 0.2 per cent for 2016 in total.
"The expert community does not believe it yet", - stated in the materials of the HSE. In a survey of the HSE the experts from the Boston Consulting Group, Sberbank CIB, the Institute of Economics, Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy, Morgan Stanley, “Lukoil", "KAMAZ", "VTB Capital", VEB, Economist Intelligence Unit and other organizations took part.
On Wednesday, May 18, Bloomberg agency noted in its submission that the Russian economy is experiencing the largest change for last 15 years. The longest recession for 20 years in Russia may end up in the third quarter of 2016, according to the agency. On May 17, the Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that Russia's economy had adapted to the current situation in the world economy.
