“Aeroflot” has been able to change its situation and improved its position in the global ranking on the quality of service of the best airlines in the world and became a favorite among investors. It is reported by the American edition of The Wall Street Journal. The quotes of the company’s shares on the MICEX in roubles have doubled in less than a year.
The shares of “Aeroflot” in Moscow rose by 1.5 percent – up to 86.48 roubles ($ 1.35), as the newspaper wrote on Tuesday, July 5.
The newspaper reminds that in the Soviet times “Aeroflot” was the largest airline in the world by passenger traffic. In 1991, after the collapse of the country, the same thing happened to the carrier. The wave of consolidations carried out with the support of the state helped the airline company to regain its leading status in the country, as WSJ writes.
According to the International Air Transport Association, in 2015 “Aeroflot” took the 22nd place in the world by passenger traffic. “The company’s expansion has been accompanied by improvements in recent years. Almost all planes of the airline company were purchased from Western manufacturers - Boeing and Airbus, and in 2015 “Aeroflot” carried 39.4 million passengers”- the authors of the material noted.
They quote the words of the Deputy Director General of the carrier Giorgio Callegari who told that last year one company’s employee accounted for 7.7 percent more passengers carried than in 2014. In April of this year the national carrier has been awarded four stars out of the five for the quality of service by Skytrax, the British rating company specializing in the study of the quality of services rendered by different airline companies, thus standing in a row with such carriers like Emirates Airline and British Airways.
