Nokia Concerns Russian Localization

 Nokia company intends to localize their services in Russia and will consider the issue of establishing local production. This was reported by Rambler News Service on Thursday. It is noted that this step of the company was forced by “Yarovaya Law”.

As the Vice-President of Nokia Juha-Pekka Takala reported to the agency, currently company was trying to grasp the details of the new law, so there was no precise actions plan yet. Nokia launches a centre for service management in Voronezh, as the manager continued. And an equipment repair centre is to open in St. Petersburg in spring.

“In this regard, we are ready to invest in the country, to localize our services”- Takala noted. The anti-terrorism package of laws designed by the deputy Irina Yarovaya jointly with the Head of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Viktor Ozerov was passed by the State Duma on June 24. In early July it was signed by the President Vladimir Putin. According to the estimates of “Rostekh”, the localization of equipment and software required for the execution of anti-terror amendments will cost 10.3 billion roubles.
