Constrction Of the Daimler Plant In Solnechnogorsk Will Start In Summer

The construction of the Daimler car-making plant which will assemble such cars as Mercedes in Solnechnogorsk District of Moscow Oblast will start in June 2017. This was reported to the Rambler News Service by the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government Denis Butsaev.

He specified that the investor was engaged in designing playgrounds at the moment. In February Daimler has signed a special investment contract for the construction of a plant in Moscow Oblast with the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The document provides for the establishment of a full-cycle production of passenger cars and SUVs of premium segment, including the localization of a number of technological operations. The term of validity of the special investment contract is nine years. The launch of production is planned for 2019.

The plant will produce more than 20 thousand cars annually, more than a thousand people will work there. At the beginning of this year the Head of the Ministry Denis Manturov stated that the construction would begin in 2018. Several cities were initially considered for the construction of the plant, including St. Petersburg, Nizhniy Novgorod, Tolyatti, Moscow and Kaliningrad. But in the end the Daimler AG company chose Moscow Oblast.
