The best cars in 23 categories, according to Russian car enthusiasts, were named in Moscow within the framework of the annual national award “Car of the Year 2017 in Russia”.

The voting of car enthusiasts has been traditionally held during three months, from January to March 2017. The vote was attended by all Russian regions. The opinions were expressed by 972 307 people. 78 percent of respondents were male, 87 percent of them have a car.

For the first time the brand Volkswagen has collected the majority of votes in the category “favorite brand in the mass segment” and Mercedes-Bens — in the category “favorite brand in the premium segment”. Russian automotive industry also received awards.

LADA Vesta was recognized the best in “small class”, LADA Largus Furgon became the champion in the category of “mini-vans” for the fifth time. "GAZel NEXT” has become the best car in the category “vans” for the second consecutive year.

In addition, as a result of voting, the title “Car of the Year 2017 in Russia” in the class “city cars” was received by KIA Picanto. “Novelty” category was won by Hyundai Creta. The category “breakthrough of the year” featured Genesis premium brand launch. The most recognizable Chinese brand has become Chery. The keys of the main prize of the award - a new Volkswagen Amarok - were also handed out during the event.
