Yandex.Market will sell, process and deliver orders. Service "Yandex.Market" changes the format, transforming into an online hypermarket by analogy with the American Amazon. The company is already negotiating with warehouse operators in order to have its stock of running goods.
Service "Yandex.Market" plans to work on the model of the hypermarket, but in the Internet environment, that is, to control the delivery and ordering processes, and is already negotiating with logistics companies for the lease of warehouses where the most popular goods will be stored. This was told by the general director of Yandex.Market Maxim Grishakov.
Grishakov explained: “I want our customer to be able to buy a wide range of goods (in the near future, I hope that services would be also available) online quickly and conveniently by means of our service. From our side, we should provide this order with high quality. I can memorize several international offline-retailers, British Tesco, for example, which had added touristic sales, insurance products, and cars’ petroleum to their wide range of services. One of them even opened a room to register marriages. For sure, we are not going to add these kinds of services, but we are planning to widen the number and assortment of goods.
From aggregator to hypermarket
“Yandex.Market” started to implement new model last year. In September, 2016, “Yandex.Market” changed the working scheme with the shops from cost-per-click commercial to the cost-per-action one. If previously the commission was form 4,5% for the each user’s transition to the shop site, now the commission is 2% for the accomplished purchase.“Yandex.Market” CEO states that, 5 thousands partners of the new service have chosen new model in half a year, which means 25% of all shops from the aggregator. According to the service data, 20% of Moscow region services are made on the “Yandex.Market” platform.
Grishakov says: “We are installing a system that will help customer to come to “Yandex.Market” to choose goods that they need with best price and the delivery will be also included, which is why we have decided to switch for the transactional model”.
