On November 15, in Russia the transition period for the introduction of the technical regulations of the Customs Union on tobacco products is completed. As the agency TASS explains, the producers are obliged to switch to the release of a new format for cigarette packs.

It is specified that in the updated design of the image with a warning about the dangers of smoking should be placed on both sides of the pack and occupy not less than 50 percent of its area.

In addition, images or inscriptions that would associate tobacco products with food, such as fruits can not be printed on the packs. Inside the packs there should be no advertising inserts.

In addition, it is forbidden to call cigarettes "low tar," "light", "soft", in order not to create the impression of the consumer about the low harm of this product.
