Less Foreign Workers Will be Hired In Russia In 2018
December 25, 2017 00:24

The number of foreign workers who will be hired in Russia in 2018 on the basis of visa will be less by 20 percent than in 2017. This is reported in the resolution on the website of the government.

The quota was retained in some areas of the economy in 2018. It was decreased, for example, for land passenger transport and road freight transport - from 30 to 28 percent. "We are talking about visa labor migrants, who make up only 1-2 percent of the total number of people entering Russia. Therefore we can  say that this change is to cut the quota by 20% and it does not bring global qualitative changes. Of course, if it was a question of visa-free migrants, then it would be worthwhile to weigh the situation and assess the risks. At the moment it does not affect anything," – it was told to in the Federation of Russian Migrants.

According to the Main Directorate for Migration problems, more than 16.4 million foreign citizens and stateless persons entered the country in 2016.
