Russian Auchan will update its stores and expand the range of goods.
According to François Remy, CEO of Auchan Retail Russia, the reorganization of the network operation model will start due to the change in the expectations of Russian customers over past two to three years. The design, equipment and assortment of goods will be changed in the stores, said the Top Manager.
"Until now, Auchan in Russia was positioned mainly as a discounter with a special emphasis on cheap goods. We call them as products of the first third of the assortment. The actual task is to give customers more offers, especially in the second and third third of the assortment, that is, in the middle and premium segments," Mr. Remi explained.
At the same time, Auchan intends to strengthen its image as a store with a wide range of products at prices below the average market prices. "But instead of being a discounter of inexpensive goods, we will be a discounter on the whole line. That means that even if it is a premium product, we should have it cheaper," the head of Auchan Retail Russia explained.
