Russia will Stay the World's Largest Exporter of Primary Energy Resources
May 10, 2018 00:46

By 2040 Russia will stay the world's largest exporter of primary energy resources. This follows from the updated forecast of the British BP, TASS reports.

According to the experts, by this time Russia will provide up to 5 percent of global demand. In particular, the country will export about 9 million barrels of oil per day (according to the Ministry of Energy, this April Russia produced about 11 million barrels per day).

By 2040 the volume of gas exports will be about 36 billion cubic feet. As noted by British researchers, Russia will give way to leadership in the production of liquid hydrocarbons to the US and Saudi Arabia. In terms of gas production, it will take the second place after the United States, producing 72 billion cubic feet of gas.  Moreover, by 2040, Russia's share in the world energy production will drop to 9 percent, compared to 10 percent in 2016.
