9 Things to Do after IE Registration in Russia

Here is a  step-by-step instruction on what to do after obtaining a certificate of registration of an IE (individual entrepreneur) in Russia.

Starting a business is a responsible period when it's important not to forget anything and do everything right. Therefore, many businessmen in Russia are interested in every step that they have to make on the way to launching a business.

How to Open IE in Russia if You are a Foreigner

Step 1. Select a taxation system

After the future entrepreneur submits all the documents necessary for registering him as an IE, he gets  a certificate of the BIND. Then it will be necessary to make a choice - to stay on the general taxation system, or   apply for transfer to one of the special ones.  Many choose a "simplified" system. In order to switch to another taxation system, a new application for transfer must be submitted within a month from the receipt of the registration certificate.

Step  2. Find out your own registration number

You will need this number when submitting a 3-NDFL declaration. To find out the number of the territorial fund and its own registration number, it is enough to write an application for an extract from the EGRIP registry.

Step  3. Register in  the pension fund

Here it is important to know two points. First - if you registered as an IE and do not have employees, then you do not have to do anything. Because   the tax service itself submits all documents to the pension fund. The second point concerns you if you have become an employer.  In this case, you will definitely need to visit the pension fund department and register as an employer. You have a month to do this.

Step 4. Register in the Social Insurance Fund

The Social Insurance Fund is the next step after the Pension Fund. And here everything is exactly the same.  Just follow the  procedure from the Step 3.

Step   5. Visit the department of statistics

The  letter you get there  will contain information that you will need to use when opening  your personal account. Do not lose this letter.

Step 6. Open a settlement account

It is worth mentioning that this action is not always necessary. There are many areas of small business, where an account is not required.

Step 7. Register the seal

Seal  is an optional attribute of an IE. However,  it is often necessary. And in the future, when it comes to business growth, you cannot  operate  without a personal seal.

Step ¹ 8. Get the license

The license must be obtained only for certain types of activities that cannot be arranged without a special permission. Types of these activities can be found in 99-FZ (art. 1, art. 12).

Step 9. Registration of the cash register

Buying the device will not be enough.  It must be registered.

As you can see, there are not many  actions to be taken by an entrepreneur after he gets a certificate from the tax service. Some of them in general have an optional character, especially for beginners. However, each of these actions has its own nuances.  To get more clarifications, consult our attorneys in Russia.
