The Head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev told that the implementation of Russian national projects will attract investors from Arab countries.
In particular, the Arab Mubadala investment fund that had previously invested in Russian projects showed interest in investments in Russia. “We have 45 cases of investment from them, including such projects as reducing losses in “Rosseti” through smart meters, eliminating the digital inequality to Rostelecom.” They financed these projects during the toughest crisis times in Russia”, as Dmitriev told.
According to the Head of RDIF, the Arabs are considering the projects in the areas of health and new technologies. Dmitriev noted that attracting this kind of investors was “extremely important” and the fund characterized Mubadala as “one of the most efficient and wise players on the Russian market.”

“We have already attracted them to the projects on toll roads, hospitals, as well as many other sectors. We believe that a significant part of the foreign financing of national projects in many respects will receive money precisely from Middle Eastern funds”, as Dmitriev added.
The programs of national projects were adopted and approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 7, 2018. They will be implemented in three fields: “Human Capital”, “Comfortable Living Environment” and “Economic Growth”.
It is planned to complete more than 10 large-scale programs for development of Russia by 2024.
