The growth of franchising outpaces the growth of the Russian economy: in 2018, GDP grew by 2.3%, and the franchise market grew by almost 20%.
Over the year, the number of franchise establishments increased by 20,000, reaching the level 70,000, the total number of franchisees has grown more than 10 times over the past ten years.
Let’s recall that “1C” company has become the most popular franchise of 2018 in Russia. The “1C” company won the first place in the ranking of the most dynamically developing and popular Russian franchises of 2018, according to the RBC version. “1C” has been heading the ranking for the fourth year in a row: in 2018, the company concluded 722 new contracts, the total number of contracts exceeded 8.9 thousand.
The “Gemotest” network of diagnostic laboratories ranked second, having risen from the third line. Last year, the company opened 145 new franchises, with a total of 529 contracts on its account. The third line was for the first time taken by Fit Service, a network of auto services – it has risen from 17th position with 121 contracts signed in 2018. Ekaterina Gornayeva, the Head of the Marketing Department of Fit Service, said that the sharp increase in the sales of franchises made it possible to reduce prices.
“Such record growth is due to the fact that we started selling the franchise at a big discount at the end of 2017: it was a part of the special offer, we lowered the lumpsum payment from 350 thousand to 150 thousand roubles. Then we noticed an increase in demand for the franchise and decided to keep the price low even after the end of the campaign”, she said.
