The top 3 of the ranking of Russian companies with the best reputation according to the Reputation Institute includes Domodedovo, Yandex and Sheremetyevo. In general, the reputation of Russian companies is worse than that of foreign companies working in Russia, follows from the study.
The rating of Russian companies with the best reputation according to the Reputation Institute (RI) prepared for Forbes in 2019 is headed by Domodedovo Airport. Yandex moved to second place. Earlier, airports did not take part in the RI reputation ratings, but now there are two of them in the top three - Sheremetyevo takes the third place.
At the same time, Yandex continues to maintain a reputation of a leader in the high-tech sector. It is ahead of Mail.ru and Kaspersky Lab. In the financial sector, Sberbank takes the first place, Gazprombank and Alfa-Bank, respectively - second and third. Leaders in their sectors were also M.Video (retail), Tele2 Russia (telecommunications), Rosatom (energy) and Eurochem (chemistry).
In the oil and gas sector, Gazprom took the first place, and Metalloinvest has the best reputation among companies in the metallurgical sector.
Analysts emphasize that the positive attitude of people towards these two sectors is a Russian feature.
Russians still trust international companies more than Russian ones, the Reputation Institute says. This phenomenon is not typical in other countries where “home” companies, as a rule, have a better reputation. In 2017-2019, on average, the reputation of international companies in Russia is stably 13-15 points higher than that of Russian ones.
The last places in the ranking were taken by Rostelecom, Tinkoff Bank and Rusnano. The worst dynamics were demonstrated by Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, Rostec, Fosagro, Kaspersky Lab and Transneft.
Analysts explain the last position of Rusnano, in particular, with a negative attitude to the head of the group Anatoly Chubais and a skeptical attitude of the society towards the innovativeness of the company's products and services.
How they count
The Reputation Institute conducted its research in the second quarter of 2019. Experts interviewed more than 2500 people about the activities of the 50 largest and most famous Russian companies. According to the results of the study, the analyzed companies received from 0 to 100 points. A result above 80 means excellent reputation, 70-79 - strong, 60-69 - medium, 40-59 - weak, less than 40 - bad.
