“VKontakte” did not close its API (the method where you can use open social network data to create your own applications) for third-party developers, the limitations in its work will affect only the part of the audio records with the rights belonging to copyright owners” - the press-service of “VKontakte” explained, According to the developer of one of the third-party music applications Artem Shuba, this was done to make users shift from third party applications to official ones.

“Previously, we did not fight third-party applications, because social network management was different and had other values and ideals, but the changes for the past two years were aimed primarily at increasing profits” - he concluded.
