75 Percent of Russians had Negative Experience On the Internet
February 12, 2018 11:26

Internet users from Russia are more likely to be exposed to network risks than users from other countries. This is stated in a study by Microsoft.

According to the research, about 75 percent of Russians had negative experience on the Internet. Nevertheless, the level of maltreatment in the network has decreased by 12 percent, as compared to 2016.

According to the respondents, the number of insults in the Russian segment of the Internet has also decreased by four percent. In addition, it turned out that users from Russia face fewer sexual risks than those from other countries: the global indicator is 31 percent, whereas in Russia it amounts to 20 percent.

Respondents admitted that unpleasant incidents on the network make it hard for them to trust people both online (54 percent of respondents) and in real life (34 percent), as well as increase stress (34 percent). Women find themselves in stressful situations by 18 percent more often than men. Moreover, the study says that aggressive behavior on the Internet is most often aimed at teenagers (about 70 percent). Experts attribute this to the fact that young people do not have a high level of online culture, but defend their interests in a more active way than other age groups do.
