Argentine Tango: Passion Came To Moscow.

This November has never promised to be so hot. The rainy and muddy last autumn month brought a real celebration for those, longing for the sun and summer flings. Moscows Operetta Theatre welcomed tango lovers for three days November 21-23; its scene was a playground for Tango Seduccion (Tango Seduction) dance sensation from Buenos Aires, Argentina excellent tango dancers headed by Gustavo Russo. I have dropped there last Monday and the last thing I can say this performance is worth watching and admiring.

The renowned dancer and choreographer Gustavo Russo has brought together top Argentinean artists dancers, singers and musicians, who reveal the superb tango performance to the audience. They tell us the history of tango in an innovative and original way by means of theatrical combinations. Tango Seduccion makes tango closer to people and offers the audience a journey through those special emotional moments laughter and excitement, jealousy and seduction, love and sensuality.

The show consists of three parts. The first one, tango classics, presents different aspects and styles of the traditional dance and music of tango. Classics of tango, such as La Cumparsita, El Choclo and others, are demonstrated by a fusion of various tango traditions from early forms to modern ways of expression. The second part is comic and tells the history of tangos birth. It shows the nightlife of Buenos Aires of the 19th century, describing the social surroundings of that time. The humoristic way of presentation makes the scene lively and pleasurable for spectators. The last but not the least part of the show is called Seduction and tells three choreographed stories combining three different styles of dance: traditional tango, contemporary ballet and classical ballet. This part reveals the mysterious power of tango seduction as short episodes of a dream.

However, tango is not only dancing, though it is the main part of tango. The music for the show was composed by the legendary Astor Piazzolla, who used cello, piano, bass and drums together with bandoneon, a German instrument, similar to accordion, which is considered to be the very heart of tango music. The instrument is recognized by sadness, nostalgia and seduction, which gave birth to tango music. Dances are interleaved with songs, performed by Alejandra Canepa, a singer with a marvellous voice who knows how to transmit feelings.

I wish all of you to touch the fantastic world of the most emotional dance in the world tango, which is brought to you by people, who have it in their hearts.
