The exhibition of photos made by the famous fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier during two years and constituting the book “Dior Couture. Patrick Demarchelier” is held at the "Manezh" Central Exhibition Hall from March 7 to April 3.

"I do my work so that every woman should feel she is the most beautiful in the world" - Christian Dior says. "The work of a fashion photographer is to create a dream, and Dior Haute Couture is already a dream" - Patrick Demarchelier thinks.

Russian culture was a source of inspiration for the House of Dior many times since the day of its foundation. In his youth Christian Dior was struck by the beauty of Russian Ballet of Diaghilev. Feeling passionate interest to architecture and constructivism, especially to the works of Rodchenko, 26-year-old Christian Dior came to Moscow. And in 1959 the House of Dior organized an impressive fashion show specifically for the Soviet audience.

After the recent exhibition "Dior: Under the sign of art” (“Inspiration Dior”) held in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in 2011 Dior is again in Moscow with the project “Dior Couture. Patrick Demarchelier” that will be one of the key events of the VIII Moscow Biennale "Fashion and Style in Photography - 2013". The exhibition includes more than 120 photographs created by the famous fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier during two years and constituting the book “Dior Couture. Patrick Demarchelier” 2011.

The pictures feature are the best models and actresses of our time (including Gisele Bundchen, Natalia Vodianova, Charlize Theron, Karlie Kloss, Sasha Pivovarova, and others) wearing dresses and costumes of different seasons, backstage haute couture collection shows, as well as the unique report from the Paris Dior studio where the masterpieces of high fashion are born.

Patrick Demarchelier was born on August 21, 1943 in the French city of Le Havre. Demarchelier cooperates with well-known fashion brands, he made advertising campaigns for such companies as Polo Ralph Lauren, Cutty Sark, Calvin Klein Inc., Armani, Chanel, Versace, Elizabeth Arden, Revlon, Lancôme. On July 1, 2011 Demarchelier became the chief photographer on the wedding of the Prince of Monaco Albert II and the South African Charlene Wittstock.
