The Russian Museum in St. Petersburg has presented the exhibition called «Hiding Places Of the Russian Sole. German view». How do the foreigners consider the Russian sole? What is its secret and mysteriousness? To embody this idea the Russian Museum in collaboration with the «Art Line» Foundation (Moscow) has provided four halls of the Marble palace to the German architect, light designer Karsten Vinkels.
With the use of lighting effects and sound accompaniment he creates special atmosphere of the display space, which stimulates the viewers to the active creative interaction. In one of the thematic halls the visitor has to discover specially shaped hiding places-constructions and spy on people’s secret life.
The protagonists of the conceptional design are approximately 45 works, among which are paintings, graphic arts of the Russian Museum’s collection, works of modern sculptors from St. Petersburg and Moscow. The exhibition will be supplemented with photos, document materials, video-stories connected with Russian and German life. It takes place within the scope of the year of Russia and Germany program. The exhibition will last till the 13th of May, 2013.
