Stella Art Foundation presents installation of Institute “Baza” students works organized by Anatoliy Osmolovsky. The first show of this project was set in 2012 at Moscow Pavilion on the 9th Shanghai Biennale of Contemporary Art held by Stella Art Foundation as part of the exhibition "Moscow, populated by ghosts".
As the name implies, the installation consists of multipartite copyright objects, where the frame of each object is a suitcase - tested form of moving things in space. It is both a symbol of travel and a sign of the microcosm endowed with autonomy, inherent to each artifact that claims to be a work of art. And most importantly, the suitcase is the ideal form for portable museum.
Each student received an assignment to "pack" their own bag and approached the task individually. As a result, viewers were offered a range of thematic solutions from formal (placement in a larger suitcase amount of smaller) and an alternative (replacing the suitcase by the shawl tied in a knot) to socio-concept (a set of reproductions of the most expensive works of art) and manic-lyric (private collection of «cult» things). Thus, most of the solutions were related to the problems of art.
