 “Summer in Kolomenskoye”, a unique festival of brass band music started in July in Moscow. Every Saturday at 4 p.m. brass bands start playing in front of the palace of Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich.

The festival began with the performance of Central Military band of Russian Ministry of Defence, one of the best known military bands in the world.  Outstanding performance, carefully selected repertoire with priority given to Russian classic and contemporary music, virtuosity and compleat professionalism are the remarkable features of this band. Band conductor is the Meritorious Artist of Russia, colonel Sergey Durygin.

Concert Master brass band of RZD, “Still Style” drum show by “Modern” brass band and Military Master brass band of Honor Guard of Moscow garrison have already appeared on the festival stage. 

Here is the program for August:

August 3 – State brass band of Russian Federation. Art director – Professor Vladimir Chugreev.

Military brass band of 154th Independent Commandant's Regiment of Moscow garrison will present its concert program on August 10. First lieutenant Marat Gayanov is the band director.

Central border guard ensemble of FSS of Russia will perform on August 17. This band is directed by Alexey Strenadko.

The festival will come to an end on August 24 with the performance of Central Military band of Russian Ministry of Defence.

Entrance is free of charge.
