Multimedia Exhibition "Michelangelo. The Creation" in St. Petersburg

Frescos of the Sistine Chapel come to life in the heart of St. Petersburg: in the old Lutheran Saint Ann Church you can see frescoes painted by inimitable Michelangelo Buonarotti on the ceiling and altar wall of the former family church of Vatican.

In order to see all of Michelangelo's paintings you have to visit Florence, Rome and Milan, Paris and London and not miss out on New York. However, now there is another lucky option: the multimedia exposition Michelangelo. The Creation gives a wonderful chance to see landmark masterpieces by the titan of Renaissance all in one venue. Multichannel animation, high resolution projectors, enormous screens, and surround sound — visitors will see not just an exhibition, but a full-fledged show.

Michelangelo's talent manifested itself in the widest range of arts — from painting to poetry. The capstone of his creativity is frescoes of the Sistine Chapel in Vatican, which illustrates the way that the mankind is going through: from Creation to the Last Judgement. The Creation of Adam fresco is probably known to everyone: the God's and man's hands reaching to each other is the brightest symbol of the Renaissance.

Visitors of the exhibition can see in detail more than 300 figures, each of them being an anthem to the physical and spiritual beauty of the person and boundless  creative opportunities of the divine.

In Saint Ann Church  it is also possible to view Michelangelo's sculptures in three-dimensional format, as well as   masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael Santi, Giotto, Sandro Botticelli and Titian.

In the anteroom visitors can enlarge any site of the Sistine Chapel ceiling by means of an interactive wall and make a virtual trip to Vatican with the Oculus Rift glasses.

The exhibition runs from June 7 to October 2.  
Open hours:
from 11 am to 8 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday;
from 11 am to 9 pm on Friday and Saturday
