Gold Bee is a grand event in the sphere of graphic design; in regards of its scale it is comparable to the Chaumont International Poster and Graphic Design Festival, as well as biennial exhibitons in Mexico and Trnava, and triennial exhibitions in Sofia and Kharkiv. Every two years the Moscow Exhibition conducts a global research on new tendencies and bright discoveries in the field of visual communications.
Gold Bee was born in 1992 and at once became a really large-scale event for the country, which was just getting used to the absence of the Iron Curtain. However, the early 1990s was a turning period not for Russia only: the entire world of design was then undergoing the advance of postmodern culture and approach of the digital era.
From the very beginning special attention at the bienniale was paid to the poster as the genre giving to the artist infinite opportunities for creative quests and experiments. Expressiveness, emotionality and innovation of style have always been the main requirements for selection of competitive works.
This time designers from 88 countries applied for participaton and the jury selected over one thousand works for demonstration. The traditional nomination Posters is accompanied with a few others, such as Digital Design, Pioneers of Russian Design, Mercy, The Crime and Punishment, Chernobyl and Fukushima.
Master classes and lectures will be held during the bienniale. In addition to the main program, events of the Golden Bee Network will take place in the cities of Berlin, Vilnius, Klaipeda, Lviv, Prague, Tehran, San Francisco, Hangzhou, Nizhny Tagil, and Vladivostok.
The bienalle is taking place in the Central House of Artist at the address 10, Krymsky Val Street, next to the Oktyabrskaya and Park Kultury metro stations, Moscow.

from 11 am to 6 pm on October 9.
