On the 20th of April, 2013 the summer city festival «The best city on the Earth» started in Moscow. The festival provides more than a thousand and a half of events in all the districts of the capital.

According to the portal «The culture of Moscow» more than 100 events will take place in every district during the summer. The areas for them will be parks, boulevards, culture establishments, courts, water area of the Moscow River, shopping malls and industrial estates. Among the cultural events are «Festival of new city cultures», city-wide action «My court. My region. My district.», «Gastronomic festivals», «Fireworks festival», project «Summer in parks», and special thematic project programs — «Open streets», «Active city», festive «We have come back!».

The festival was opened on the 20th of April, when a city-wide community work day started in the city. The thorough cleaning of the capital lasted from the 20th till the 28th of April. Each day had its themes: «Clean monument day», «Clean entrance day», etc. The performances of street musicians, actors, sportsmen-extremals, artists will take place in the districts each time. 150 entities for street artists works are already determined. Among them 100 are the housing and communal services objects. Each summer holidays graffiti art-objects, created by the best Russian and world artists, will be opened at the urban infrastructure objects. Almost a half of the festival events will happen on the amusement parks territory where on the 1st of May a new parks season will be opened.

Apart from the traditional dancing, sports, theatre and concert programs it’s planned to hold a park fashion festival, 3D-graffiti projects and the environmental movement: minifarm in Krasnaya Presnya park, ecological festival «Arbutus» in 12 parks during the whole parks season.

A special attention will be drawn to the gastronomic festivals. The following gastronomic festivals will be celebrated: «World cuisines», «Seasonal product» and other.

In August Moscow will celebrate «Fireworks festival» where famous pyrotechnicians from Europe, countries-members of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Russian cities will participate. Three best teams will make a firework on the City Day.
