Days of Finland will be held in Flacon design factory on the last day of winter and the first day of spring 2014. Let's show out the cold winter and welcome the long-awaited spring with a journey to the snowy fairyland of funny Moomins, dog sledging, drinking hot Glögi and bathing in a vat hanging over the fire!
By tradition, on the last day of winter, February 28, Finland and Karelia celebrate Day of Kalevala. It is a real carnival with theater shows, costume procession and song marathons. The guests and residents will be able to see all these in the "Flacon", and what is more – to ride a dog sled, play with lovely huskies and enjoy traditional Finnish herring with honey.
Plunging into Finland will start with the Finnish cult cinema! On Friday evening, the traditional cinema club "Cinema and Makarov-in-one" will show the film "Here we are, life!" by Finnish director Tapio Suominen, the story of troubled teens from one of the Helsinki schools, who live a life full of adventures and challenges.
On the first day of spring, all throughout the "Flacon", the guests will be able to watch theater shows, enjoy the traditional Finnish dishes and even swim in the outdoor sauna!
Plays on the "Kalevala carnival" performed by the best Moscow street theaters will take place at the central courtyard of the design-factory. "Antique Circus" will present dance and circus performance called LOMA (Celebration) featuring acrobats, tightrope walkers, jugglers and dancers.
Right outside, the Finnish sauna lovers will find a huge vat of water, rhythmically swaying on chains over the glowing cinder. The water with fragrant herbs is heated to 42 degrees. Bathing in this unusual sauna will make all guests strong and fresh and will give them excellent mood.
The Family Day offers younger guests not only fascinating master classes, but also ice fishing. All visitors can try the Finnish national dishes and have hot Finnish drinks prepared by chefs in huge vats. Finnish food and lovely trinkets market will take place in Loft area. In honor of the 100th anniversary of all Moomins' mother Tove Jansson, there will work the market of wise animals from author's fairy tales.
