Joint stand of Russian movies, TV series and animation films were presented at 51st largest international television market MIPTV opened in French Cannes.
Cinema Fund organized the Russian Pavilion with support of the Ministry of Culture. Russian Cinema stand brought together more than a dozen major domestic companies engaged in the production and distribution of movies, television series and animation films. Such format has already successfully proven itself on Berlin Film Market and TV Forum in Hong Kong.
"Participation of Russian production companies on cinema markets in the joint stand format, certainly, opens up new markets not only for the Russian full-length movies, the production of which is actively supported by the Cinema Fund, but also provides an opportunity to sell television content and animation projects. The stand in Cannes also presents popular domestic cartoons that have the potential to become full-length animated movies, to be able to collect cash and be sold to various international territories, and the task of the Cinema Fund is to help national film companies to do so," the executive director of the Cinema Fund Anton Malyshev said.
Russian Cinema stand was represented by Wizart Animation, Interñinema, Russian World Vision, Reflexion Films, Luxema Film, Planeta Inform, Sreda Fetisov Films, Total Content, Producer Center Age of Aquarius and Russian Animated Film Association.
The guests got acquainted with motion pictures, television series, as well as with Russian animation. Besides, the General Director of Channel One Konstantin Ernst was awarded a MIPTV medal "for outstanding contribution to the global television business and the important role played in the development of the industry as a whole because of his talent, leadership and dedication to the business."
The largest TV market MIPTV was held on the French Riviera for 51st time. Every year it gathers industry leaders and professionals to work together, to share experiences and determines the further development of the industry. This year the festival involves 11 thousand organizations from 100 countries, including more than 150 from Russia.
