The exhibition&fair festival Moscow Spring from April 22 to May 9 will be dedicated to the Holy Week, the Easter and the Victory Day, the head of Moscow Trade and Services Department Alexey Nemeryuk reported at a press conference.
"The festival Moscow Spring will take place in 26 venues in various districts of the city. Last year the festival was attended by more than 5,5 million people. This year we are expecting even more visitors", - Mr. Nemeryuk said.
According to him, from the beginning of the Holy Week and till the Easter everyone will have an opportunity to taste lenten dishes at the festival sites. As for the cultural program it will be rich in educational events and concerts.
Large-scale celebrations will run from May 1 to May 7. Visitors will be welcomed to listen to gala concerts, watch drama preformances, and purchase festive goods as well as souvenirs and the traditional Easter treats, such as coloured eggs, Easter cakes, etc. 300 stands arranged in all the venues together will present a number of shops, restaurants and animators.
In addition to it, in Tverskaya Square there will run the exhibition Orthodox Easter Around the World, which will present models of varied churches and monasteries of Syria, Serbia, Georgia, Bulgaria and other countries.
On May 8 and 9 the festival will celebrate the Victory Day and the festival venues will be provided with field kitchen trucks to feed the visitors.
"This year the festival sites will be dedicated to epic athletes, artists, scientists and inventors. On May 8 and 9 they will be replaced with true stories of lives and feats of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War", - the head of the department added.
One of the new design elements of the exhibition fair will be sculptures made of plants. Thus, Tverskoy Boulevard will be decorated with figures of flower girls and loving couples. Among other "green" projects there will be an ecoschool, where children and adults will be engaged in gardening. Aroma Library will be open at a festival venue in front of the Central Department Store at Kuznetsky Bridge and give visitors the opportunity to create their own perfumes.
