Spring Flower Festival in Moscow
April 29, 2016 23:14

The rich variety of flowers, trees and other plants that is available at the festival in the Aptekarsky Garden can hardly be found anywhere else in this country. Walk along these radiant flower carpets, enjoy their unique smells and get acquainted with inhabitants of the garden and local reservoirs.
Spring has been made even more vibrant and multicoloured here. For one and a half months bright flower fields has spread over the Aptekarsky Garden of Moscow. It is difficult to find such abundance of blossoming plants not only in Moscow, but all over Russia. Corydalis and bluebells create unique honey aroma, while thousands of tulips and narcissuses give the basis for a fine flower carpet.
Besides, here you will see three types of the Sakura at once: among them there are both Oriental cherry trees grown up in Russia and original Japanese sakuras brought here right from Fujiyama.
Peonies of various coloring will flourish closer to the end of the festival, and in its last days you will see magnificent blossoming of rhododendrons.
Atmospheric actions will make a pleasant addition to the flower delight of the festival. Thus, for example, Japanese carps will be released into canals, red-eared terrapins will be settled in a reservoir next to the eastern gate, and ruddy shellducks will start bringing their baby birds here.
The festival entrance tickets cost as much as regular tickets to Aptekarsky Garden.
The festival is open to general public from 10 am to 8 pm every day from April 16 till May 29.
Address of the Aptekarsky Garden: 26,   Prospect Mira, near the Prospect Mira metro station, Moscow
