5th Pacific Rim Festival Held in Krasnoyarsk

The 5th Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival of the Pacific Rim took place in Krasnoyarsk from June 23 to 27, 2016.
The festival aims at the dialogue of various cultures and introducing all participants to modern art process.
It is a multigenre festival that gives the leading role to music and presents choreography, fine art and street art, cinema and literature as well.
The festival brings together musicians and artists from the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Siberia, the Far East, and the countries of the Pacific Rim.
The Krasnoyarsk Krai Minister Elena Mironenko said:
    "The festival took place in more than  8 venues. 50 events took place. One and a half thousand people from 44 countries applied for participaton in the festival. Upon expert selection representatives of 18 member countries arrived here. The 5th anniversary festival became the first one in the territory of the Siberian Federal District to have received aegis of the UNESCO. I want to express gratitude to all of you for your open hearts because these are open hearts that enable us to live, love and create. We saw it at the concert of the opera star Hibla Gerzmava, which attracted more than 16 thousand people to the Peace Square in front of the Big Concert Hall".
The unique project Young Ballet of Asia and the Pacific Ocean was held for the third time in the history of the Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival". This year students of choreographic schools and young artists from Japan, Argentina, Mongolia and Russia took part in that special project. The peculiarity of the Young Ballet of Asia and the Pacific Ocean is its wide stylistic range: from classical ballet to modern choreography and provocative modernist style.
The Riverside City College Chamber Singers (the USA), the music trio Pedrina Y Rio  (Colombia), the dance collective Daol (Republic of Korea) and other guests performed on stage of the Big Concert Hall at the festival closing ceremony.
Personal art  exhibitions "Aziyar" of Lyudmila Turchanova and "For the Better" of Victor Sachivko, as well as group exhibitions "Smell of Chrysanthemums" and "Peace all over the World" and the book illustration exhibition "Book World of Asia and the Pacific Ocean" became an integral part of the festival.
The festival included in Russia's National Events Calendar took place under the auspices of UNESCO and with assistance of the RF Culture Ministry and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
