Faces of Streets will bring together 14 theaters, Girls Orchestra from Taiwan and lion dancers from China.
On August 21 the Literary Quarter of Yekaterinburg will turn into a huge theater under the open sky. The internatioanl festival Faces of Streets will be held there with three stages working at the same time: in front of the Chamber Theater, the Summer Platform, and next to Reshetnikov Museum. 14 theaters will give open-air performances there and Yekaterinburg dwellers, both young and old will have a chance to be not just the audience, but also active members of a large-scale action.
"This year festival is essentially different from the last year's. This year we are going out to the streets to make a real family holiday: streets will be filled with a colourful carnival procession and sounds music will spread all around" – the festival press secretary Tatyana Irgaleyeva said.
Fairy tale characters and musicians, acrobats on stilts and artists will become the heroes of the colourful festival procession. All comers are welcomed to join the fancy crowd and walk along with it from the Pushkin Monument to the Chamber Theater.
However, miracles will not finish at that point: during their performance memebrs of the comic acrobatic duet Jolly Roger will masterly throw not only each other, but also the most courageous viewers up into the air. The Yekaterinburg theater Yellow Square will take you on a visit to his Majesty and the charming Queen, while vivified sculptures will smile at every guest.
The festival music will leave nobody indifferent: the Military Brass Band of Headquarters of the East Regional Command of Internal Troops from Khabarovsk and Girls' Orchestra from the city of Taipei (Taiwan) will play for you. Moreover, dancers from Guangzhou (China) will perform an unusual lion dancing program.
