The Golden Mask festival has opened a new season with unprecedented large tours of the best performances by the Russian theaters all over this country and abroad.
From September 15 to December 9 plays from the festival program will be performed in 10 cities of Russia, including - in Rostov Veliky, Zheleznogorsk, Mytishchi and Gubkin for the first time. Traditional tours of The Gold Mask to the Baltic States will take place in Latvia from September 30 to October 11 and in Estonia from October 8 to October 18.
During regional and international projects the stage productions by the famous Russian directors such as Pyotr Fomenko, Henriette Yanovskaya, Andrey Moguchy, Dmitry Krymov, Evgeny Pisarev, Marina Brusnikina, Evgeny Kamenkovich and others will be shown.
Regional Tours
Two stage plays of RAMT (My Friend Veniamin and As the Cat Walked Whereever it Liked) will be performed in Rostov Veliky on September 15 and 16;
the Moscow Theatre for Young Spectators will play Don't Part with the Beloved in Saransk from September 20 to September 26;
Pyotr Fomenko Studio will perform War and Peace. Beginning of the Novel and Wolves and Sheep in Saransk on October 24 and 25;
RAMT will present its recent premiere The Cat of Shame in Petrozavodsk on October 24 and 25 and in Kostomuksha on October 27;
The Russian Man on Rendez-Vous by Pyotr Fomenko Studio, Lelya and Minka by RAMT and Cinderella by the Music Theater of Karelia Republic will be performed in Cherepovets from October 29 to November 20.
Gold Mask for Children
A large-scale program of the best puppet shows by theaters from Kurgan, Penza, Chelyabinsk and Moscow will run in Perm from October 28 to November 3.
The children's stage production Kashtanka of the Novosibirsk theater Globus will be shown to little dwellers of Zheleznogorsk, Gubkin and Stary Oskol. A special program for orphanages and rehabilitation centers will run in these cities, as well as in Mytishchi, Novoandrosovo, and Verkhny Lubazh: the St. Petersburg puppet theater Doll House with perform Cinderella.
International Projects
In the framework of the festival's international projects dwellers of Riga, Ventspils and Liepaja in Latvia and Tallinn and Sillamäe in Estonia will see performances of Satirikon Theatre, Pushkin Theatre and Drama Art School from Moscow, as well as Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater, Musical Comedy Theatre and Bryantsev Theatre for Young Spectators from St. Petersburg.
The international projects of the Golden Mask are held with assistance of the Culture Ministry of the Russian Federation.
