The Christmas Sacred Music Festival "Advent" welcomes you to plunge into the wonderful atmosphere of upcoming Merry Christmas. In the Western Christian tradition, Advent is a singular time before Christmas, the time of joyful expectation of miracles and wonders. A selected program of the festival concerts will introduce you to contemplations about Christ, conveyed in great music compositions that open the door to the vast world of the coming holiday and present listeners with the incomparable feeling of the heart preparing for the celebration.
The audience will listen to spiritual music, New Year and Christmas songs, and old melodies under the arches of the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral for one and a half months. The festival celebrates music, dedicated to the great miracle of Christmas. Open your doors to the world of the coming Holy Day!
The poster announces a variety of concerts: organ music featuring award-winning Russian, German, and Spanish organists, performances of top bands of ancient music, baroque rarities, and popular classics for the whole family. The festival will be opened with immortal Bach compositions performed by soloists of the Intrada ensemble.
The oratorio Christmas History composed by Heinrich Schutz from Germany will be the culmination of the Advent. The festival will be crowned with the gala concert of "Angelic Voices: Boys Choir and Organ" to perform Christmas songs and classic choral music.
The concerts will be held on December 25 (starts at 7 pm), January 1 (7pm) and January 2 (6 pm)
