On September 9, marking the 870th birthday of Moscow, the Hermitage Garden will once again become the site of the festival "Theatrical March". From morning till evening performances of the most prominent Moscow theaters will be held here.
All comers will watch free performances, which are usually sold out. Coming out of their walls into the public space, the stage productions involve every visitor into the city’s rich and diverse theatrical culture. For twelve hours the Hermitage Garden will turn into a unique venue uniting the city dwellers and tourists with the achievements of modern theater.
This year the festival celebrates its first little jubilee of 5 years. The program includes productions of the Moscow Musical Theater, Ballet Moscow, Drama Art School, Theatrium at Serpukhovka, School of Modern Play, and other famous troupes. Lots of them are participating here not for the first time, but there will be debutants as well. The theater festival will be crowned with rock-and-n-drama "Viy" starring Vasily Uryevsky in the title role. He is the finalist of the TV show "The Main Stage" and one of the actors of the legendary Taganka Theatre.
The annual "Theater March" is the largest Russian theater festival in the open air. In the five years of its existence, over 70,000 people have become its visitors. This time the event is included in the program of the Festival "Jubilee of Moscow 870".
