XV Jubilee International Festival «Jazz Manor» in Moscow
April 20, 2018 09:24

June 2 and 3, 2018 will see the XV Festival “Jazz Manor” held in the Arkhangelskoye museum estate. Jazz, funk, world music, acid jazz, lounge, jazz-rock, blues and other music styles will come together on this occasion.
This year, the international festival “The Jazz Manor” turns 15 years old, which means that you will have a very special musical program, with a wide range of the best music and musicians on 6 stages.

“Parterre” Stage

The festival’s biggest stage will traditionally host the most favorite musicians of different genres. The event will be opened with a bright performance of the ethnic band AWAY (France) of multi-instrumentalist Adil Smali, performing traditional songs of the Maghreb countries infused with extrinsic elements of funk, reggae and rock.

Ancient traditions are also resorted to by singer Peruquois (Australia), the renowned master of “vocal yoga”, whose voice has proved to have healing effects.

Another headliner will be the legendary Russian rock band “Auktsion”, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, by the way.

SunSay will make his appearance on this big stage too.

“Aristocrat” Stage

This is a special stage for gourmet music fans. On the first day of the festival, it will present folk musicians from all over the world. Here you will see all-favourite bassist virtuoso Richard Bona Group (USA), world famous Alexei Arkhipovsky (Russia), who reinvented the balalaika, and Mark Eliyahu (Israel), who plays traditional oriental music on the Pontic lyre.

On June 3, jazz trendsetters will perform on the Aristocrat stage: sensational one-man band Jacob Collier (Great Britain), saxophonist Donny McCaslin (USA), who participated in the recording of David Bowie’s last lifetime album The Blackstar, and one of world’s most famous Russian jazzmen, Igor Butman with his quintet.

“Jazz Club” Stage

Russian musicians especially loved by frequenters of jazz clubs and the Jazz Manor will  perform on this stage. On the first day of the festival, more traditional jazz – from swing to post-bop – will prevail here. On the second day, you will hear striking experiments on mixing jazz with electronics, such as incredible energy sets Jazz Between and Jazzve, Danila Nikitin and Under Influence, as well as world music, including lively dances and rhythms of nations from around the globe.

Home Concert at Semushkina’s

A separate, special and nearly chamber stage will be “Home Concert at Semushkina’s”. Here the festival’s president and inspiration Maria Semushkina will bring together the most talented musicians who have already become residents of the “Home Concert” and participants of the same-name broadcast on the Radio Culture. Magic synthesis, atmosphere of co-creation and improvisation will reign on this absolutely unique stage.

Jazz Kids Manor

The Jazz Manor is a festival for the whole family, including the youngest and smallest ones. At the "Jazz Kids Manor" site children of any age will have a chance to be introduced into the history of music in an interactive playful way. And it will be exciting and engaging not only for children, but for the most demanding adults as well!

ART Space

Jubilee Festival The Jazz Manor will become truly special thanks to a unique ART Space, where you will find a wide variety of art, often experimental. It will bring together actors, directors, artists, choreographers, dancers and performers. The highlight of the ART Space will be the famous project ART FREEDOM by ArtMania. Well-known Dmitry Brusnikin Studio will show its landscape production there.
