Festival "Easter Gift" in Moscow Streets and Churches

Celebrate the bright Easter holiday in Moscow with free open-air performances, amazing handmade souvenirs and delicious Russian cuisine.
The traditional spring festival Easter Gift will be held in Moscow from April 25 to May 5, 2019. The venues can be found all over the city: wherever you go, you will find festive chalets. Dozens of Moscow streets and squares will be transformed and welcome you with pleasant surprises and festive events.

Entertainment and charity events will be held this year as part of the festival at 250 venues throughout the capital city of Russia. The festival’s most eventful programs are expected in 14 venues, including Tverskaya Square, Revolution Square, Tverskoy Boulevard, and other places, where puppet performances, concerts of Russian folk and sacred music, creative and craft workshops and much more will take place.
This year, the festival sites will for the first time open in Moscow churches, where male church choirs will perform for all comers.

The Easter Gift festival will present a variety of entertainments for the whole family. You can visit poetic recitals and puppet shows, performances of folk music ensembles, dance shows of the theater “Ballet Moscow”, and stage productions of the project “Golden Mask” in the City”.
Various epochs of Russian history will be reconstructed in Tverskaya Square, and in Revolution Square they will teach you cook traditional Russian Easter cakes Kulich and sweet curd puddings Paskha, the stars of traditional Russian Easter feast.

At all the festival sites there will be fairs of festive products, including Easter cakes of various shapes and sizes, various souvenirs, handicrafts and home decorations. 5 percent of the sales revenue will go to charity, just like last year.
To top it all, more than 60 free excursions will be arranged on the routes to places connected with the Easter holiday.
A bright spring atmosphere will reign at the festival. The sites will be decorated with installations of heather, decorative ivy, juniper and other living plants, many of which will delight with their flowering. Easter art objects, such as Flower Eggs, as well as decorative baskets and candles will also be there.

Easter Gift is a charity festival, so it will include a series of charity and volunteer events called Spring Goodness Week. Volunteers will organize more than a hundred events for people with disabilities and those in need of help in various districts of Moscow. The program of the Spring Goodness Week includes educational quests, exhibitions and excursions, sports activities and games in the open air. Volunteers will become blood donors, visit orphans and the elderly, and do many other good and useful things.

The sites of the Easter Gift will be open from 11 am to 9 pm on weekdays and from 10 am to 10 pm at weekends.
Throughout the festival, everyone can make donations and give gifts to the needy, as well as learn about the work of charitable foundations operating in Russia and support them.
