The festival "Russian Cuisine" unites and popularizes the cooking traditions of different regions of Russia. At the gourmet festival sites you can taste national dishes of Russian cuisine from various historical eras and regions, modern popular delicacies, and culinary wonders from around the world.
For one month long, you can taste mouth-watering dishes combined in thematic sections in the Izmailovo Kremlin, Moscow.
Russian Home Cuisine needs no flowery introduction - its traditional dishes are well-known as hearty and delicious.
The Gourmet Cuisine zone will present traditional Russian dishes cooked by famous chefs in a restaurant style.
In the Historical Cuisine area, you will find the treats that were popular in Russia in past centuries, but have been unfairly forgotten nowadays.
The Literature Cuisine will offer dishes described in the books by classical Russian writers.
The Cuisines of the Regions and Peoples of Russia will introduce visitors to traditional regional dishes of Siberia, Tatarstan, Buryatia, and other parts of this country.
Festival Program
The festival will be opened with the Holiday of Russian Fish Soup contest from 11 am to 4 pm on June 15, 2019. The event will be attended by professional chefs as well as the stars of Russian theater and cinema.
Argentina Festival on June 16, 2019, will delight gourmets not only with spicy dishes of Latin American cuisine, but also with dances, music and a fair.
From June 21 to 23, a large-scale Delhi Bazar, the celebration of Indian culture, will be held in the Izmailovo Kremlin. Here you will find not only delicious treats, but also film screenings, workshops, concerts, and the fair of spices and souvenirs from India.
On July 6-7, 2019, in honor of the Saints Peter and Fevronia Day, there will be a tasting event of the dishes of Orthodox and monastic cuisine.
For lovers of international cooking traditions and exotics, a food court with dishes from different countries will work on the New Vernissage site. There will be American burgers and hot dogs, Japanese rolls and sushi, Chinese noodles, Far Eastern and Mediterranean seafood dishes, Caucasian shashlyk, Norwegian mead, Irish ale, and what not.
At the festival venue you will find comfortable verandas for enjoying gourmet treats in the fresh air and swinging in hammocks.
At the fairs, visitors will be offered food products and souvenirs from different regions of Russia. Concerts of Russian pop and folk music bands, as well as animators’ performances will help create a festive mood.
Entrance to the festival is free for all comers.
