Music Festival “Afisha Picnic 2019” in Moscow
July 31, 2019 19:37

The biggest summer open-air music festival of Moscow, Afisha Picnic, will take place in the Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve on August 3, 2019. It traditionally features A-listers, with The Cure headlining this year.
The annual Afisha Picnic has been keeping up the status of the main Moscow open-air festival for 15 years in a row. Since 2007, it has been held every summer on the territory of the famous Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. The grand music festival gathers around 50 to 60 thousand spectators in the former royal residence. These few hours of the festival are packed with a mighty charge of pleasures: the best live music on several stages, a gastronomic feast for all tastes, partying, high-tech, sports and all kinds of outdoor entertainment, from board games to modern art.

The Stars of Afisha Picnic 2019

Every year the festival is sure to feature one of the world music stars. Over the years, these were Blur, The Chemical Brothers, Pet Shop Boys, Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian, and others.
This time, the headliners of the festival main stage will be the new wave and postpunk legend, The Cure. For more than four decades they have been providing genre-creating music hits, which greatly influenced the development of Russian rock music. The Moscow performance of the rock legends will fall right on the 30th anniversary of their canonical album Disintegration.

Among other participants of Afisha Picnic 2019 there are old-school hard rock apologists Royal Blood, Russian hip-hop luminary Basta, tireless experimenters SBPCh, positive rapper trumpet player Antokha MS, conceptual indie rock experts Daite Tank /Give a Tank (!), and over a dozen and a half performers and bands representing various trends of actual music from different countries.

On August 3, Kolomenskoye will be thrilled by American rapper Pusha T. His fresh album Daytona, produced by Kanye West, has been called the best rap album of 2018 by numerous editions.

Mura masa, 23-year-old English DJ, holds the status of the main hope of British electronic music.

Antokha MS, one of the most original and distinctive rappers in Russia, wins with his streetwise lyrics interspersed with playing the trumpet.

Picnic Afisha traditionally has several music stages. This year one of them, Gazgolder live, will be dedicated entirely to the participants of the Gazgolder creative association. Basta, Gruppa Skryptonite, T-Fest, Matrang, and Smokey Mo are among them.

When: from 12 pm on August 3, 2019.
Where: Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve at the address 39, Andropov Avenue, next to metro stations Kolomenskaya and Kashirskaya, Moscow.
