For the first ten days of September, Moscow will once again plunge into a series of entertaining, cultural, sports and intellectual events in honor of its 872th anniversary.
This celebration is directly related to the anniversary of the Main Exhibition of Russia – the ENEA aka VDNKh.
The Tverskaya Street, which is to become the main venue of the festival, will tell a lot of interesting things about the history of the exhibition complex in the language of music, dance, theater and ballet performances. Moscow parks will offer a lot of fun these days too. All day long the visitors will be entertained with vivid shows, interactive programs, all kinds of training, various concerts and action games.
A twelve-hour theater marathon will be held in the Hermitage Garden, musicals will take place in the Tagansky Park, and the opera and art objects of the Good Deeds Generator will fill the Sokolniki Park. The Festival of New Art and Creativity will take place in the Park of the 50th Anniversary of the October Revolution, and the Babushkinsky Park will host a ballroom dancing party and a brass band performance.
Musicals and comedies will be performed by Moscow musical and drama theaters on the stages of the Lianozovsky Park. In the Filevsky Park you will find flash mobs and dances. Environmentalists will tell about their projects in the Krasnopresnensky Park. The Izmailovo Park welcomes you to an open-air rock music festival. All comers will have an opportunity to learn the basics of choreography and acting in the Yekaterininsky Park. A costume creating workshop will be held here.
The Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve has prepared an extensive program. Master classes on various crafts and professions will be conducted in "Technograd" and "Crafts Park" at the ENEA. Here you will be able to create mini-copies of the ENEA buildings and a large map of the Main Exhibition of mosaics, minting and painting.

Acting and music groups have prepared a grandiose cultural program. Concerts and performances, creative trainings and informative lectures, orchestral music will be there for all comers.
Classical music admirers will have unforgettable moments in the green zones of the Kuskovo Estate, Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve and near Christ the Savior Cathedral. Fashion shows will be held in the Museon Park. After the shows of fashion collections, engaging workshops and lots of music will be there.
The Zaryadye Park has prepared a symbiosis program of opera solo performances with academic choral singing. The Arbat Street will be the venue for a poetic and musical program. In Tsvetnoy Boulevard, you will find the “Good Moscow” Charity Festival, which promotes good deeds, a healthy lifestyle and family values.
None of the holidays, and even more so the birthday, is complete without flowers. Throughout the summer, landscape designers and gardeners from around the world worked on the beautiful floral decoration of the city as part of the Flower Jam festival.
Celebratory Fireworks
The City Day celebration will be traditionally crowned with immense fireworks on September 7. The first volleys will lit up the sky at 9 pm. They will be launched opposite the Luzhniki Stadium, the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge and a few other sites in different districts of Moscow.
