Paramonovs Warehouses Will Be Reconstructed

The Monument of Federal Importance acquires hotels and restaurants. They will be reconstructed into the center of contemporary arts with its own spa zone.

Paramonov's Warehouses, which are considered the Monument of Federal Importance, will be transferred to the investor, who will reconstruct the facility into the Center of Contemporary Art with spa zone, hotels and restaurants. 

Paramonov’s warehouses were built in the XIX century and were used for grain storage. All cases of Paramonov’s warehouses are currently remain, adorned with lakes and waterfalls of spring water, which continues to bubble up from the coastal slopes of the Don. Due to a constant temperature of springs on the ruins of the warehouses there are formed its own microclimate, and practically the whole year there grows a green grass.

"The authorities have decided on the investor, who is willing to reconstruct the object without changing its specific character and to give the buildings a look approximate to the primordial. They approached the buildings very delicately. They neither touch them nor damage, but restore. There will be big modern art galleries, just what people lack. The roof will be made of glass.By the way, the springs will be kept, and at the place where they gush out will appear a spa center,” Minister of Culture of Rostov Oblast Alexander Rezvanov said.

In addition, the five warehouse buildings will be combined by single composition with green recreation zone. Besides art galleries and the spa center, the complex will contain two hotels, a restaurant and one business center.

First Deputy Governor Igor Guskov noted that at the moment Paramonov's Warehouses are being transferred to the investor for 45-year rent. Buildings should be transferred to him until the end of March 2014.

Paramonov's Warehouses represent a complex of 19th century warehouse buildings equipped with unique, spring water based cooling system. Currently, five warehouses represent dilapidated, littered buildings with springs spouting inside and outside. Paramonov’s Warehouses were declared the Monument of Federal Importance.
