MARS Modern Art Center in Moscow

Founded in Moscow back in 1988, MARS is the oldest centre for modern arts. The former MARS Gallery was the first private venue in the USSR to actively promote and exhibit contemporary art. MARS Center has a collection of  about 3000 works by remarkable Russian artists of the second half of the 20th century.
The museum has experienced a modern resurgence: keeping abreast of the times, MARS Center has undertaken fresh language of multimedia art. In the epoch of active development of multimedia technologies the art is changing too: sound art, videoart, and interactive installations are gaining popularity. The viewer is welcomed to engage in interaction with works of art.
MARS Center is a venue for demonstrating art projects that touch all human feelings. Its projects focuse on involving the viewer into multimedia space for unusual emotional experience through dealing with interactive media.
Large-scale exhibitions and festivals regularly held here bring together both Russian and foreign modern artists. Exhibition activities in the art gallery are accompanied with lectures and workshops.
MARS Modern Art Center is located at the address: 5, Pushkaryov Lane near the Sukharevskaya, Trubnaya, and Tsvetnoy Boulevard metro stations, Moscow.
Open hours are from 12 am to 10 pm every day except Monday.
