The Planetarium of the "Znanie" Society of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region is one of the largest ones in Russia. The planetarium offers a lot of opportunities for expanding scientific knowledge in the field of astronomy and physics, natural history and geography.

The Star Hall of the planetarium tells about the origin of the world, distant galaxies and celestial phenomena. Unique digital technologies and the Planetarium device enable visitors to observe the starry sky of any part of the Earth and at any time, as well as the annual and daily movement of planets, nebulae, comets and meteor showers, lunar eclipse and the Milky Way.

In the Test Laboratory, visitors will find answers to a whole lot of interesting questions, for example, if you can slide up an inclined plane. More than two hundred experiments will give a clear picture of and tell the secrets of mechanics, optics and electricity. A special exhibit - the Foucault pendulum - will prove the rotation of the Earth due to its property not to change the swinging angle, regardless of the rotation of its support.

In the Little Planet hall you can go on an exciting journey into the world of the living nature of Earth. You can see around our beautiful planet, by shifting through the time belts and centuries in a matter of minutes. Animation, videos and slides, as well as 3D panoramas will come to the aid. Unique technical developments will give you a chance to get acquainted with the people and landscapes of different continents, observe tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, floods and earthquakes. The diverse realm of terrestrial flora and fauna will introduce visitors into amazing facts of its existence on the Earth.
