19th International Igor Butman Festival “Jazz Triumph”

Founded by Igor Butman in 2001, Jazz Triumph is one of the oldest and most important Russian jazz festivals of global level.
The 19th International Igor Butman Festival “Jazz Triumph” will be held in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tula from March 13 to March 17, 2019.

For the past 19 years, Jazz Triumph has successfully featured the greatest jazz musicians of our time for the Russian public. Since 2001, more than a hundred true legends of jazz music have performed at the Festival: Bill Evans, McCoy Tyner, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Dave Holland, Gary Burton, Lee Konitz, Lee Ritenour, Roy Haines, Toots Thielemans, Billy Cobham, Gino Vannelli, Gary Bartz, Elvin Jones, Ahmad Jamal, Randy Brecker, Mike Stern, TAKE 6, Bob James, Roy Hargrove, and many others.


In 2019, Jazz Triumph concerts will be held in three cities: St. Petersburg (M. Gorky House of Culture) on March 13, Tula (Tula Philharmonic) on March 14, and Moscow (Moscow International House of Music, and Igor Butman Jazz Club) from March 15 to March 17.

The headliners of the festival will be Robert Glasper (USA), Richard Bona (USA), Igor Butman and the Moscow Jazz Orchestra (Russia). The Festival will also present Laurin Talese (USA), Niels Wülker (Germany), Ivanov Vibe Band (Russia), Sasha Mashin Outsidethebox (Russia), Yevgeny Pobozhy Band and Igor Butman Quartet and Quintet with Oleg Akkuratov.

In the framework of the Festival, the 5th Competition Festival “Children's Jazz Triumph” will take place. March 15 will see its gala-concert on the stage of the Moscow International House of Music.

The first Moscow concert of 19th International Festival “Jazz Triumph” will star the youth idol Robert Glasper Trio (USA), the author of high-profile projects in modern jazz, R & B and hip-hop, as well as the Quartet of Igor Butman, the People’s Artist of Russia, and an original bright jazz project Ivanov Vibe Band.
March 16, 2019
Richard Bona and his band Mandekan Cubano, Igor Butman Quintet with the participation of Oleg Akkuratov, as well as Sasha Mashin Outsidethebox, a new project by one of the most talented Russian drummers.

March 17, 2019

Vocalist Lorin Telese (USA), Igor Butman and the Moscow Jazz Orchestra, guitarist Yevgeny Pobozhy with his quartet, and the famous German trumpeter Niels Wülker with his band.
