There will be the second festival “VideoFocus-2013” in Moscow Center of Contemporary Arts from June 28 to July 28, 2013. VideoFocus festival presents various trends in Russian and global contemporary visual art: video art, digital art, the newest cinema, science-art, etc. The major goal of the festival is a detection of new role of the art in museum field.
The festival consists of five events (three exhibitions and two meetings with artists). The opening and the first exhibition “Revelation” that will work till the end of the festival will be on June 27, 2013. The curator of the exhibition refers to the notion of the "new sincerity" formulated in the 1980s by Dmitriy Pirogov. The artist believed that instead of "confessional" nature of the art of the seventies, came the art “playing” the sincerity.
“Revelation of revelations” - meeting with artists will be on June 28, 2013 at 19.30. The participants of “Revelation” and their colleagues are invited to a discussion on the relationship of the artist and society, and opportunity to realize the author’s ambitions.
The second exhibition “Found” opens on July 4th, 2013 at 19:00. "Found" is an exhibition experiment, which involved artists from the regions. Found video for them is a kind of ready-made, accidentally found object. Deconstruction of the video allows a new interpretation and demonstration of properties unheeded out of art context.
“Pirmin Blum. The subjectivity of protest art” on July 12, 2013 at 19:30 is a meeting with artist. The opening of the third exhibition "Avelino Sala. Essays on culture” is on July 15, 2013 at 19:00. Avelino Sala is one of the most active and radical artists of Spain who works on the border of acute social expression and criticism of an artist’s behavior in the current economic and political conditions.
