The Ghost, a cult story of true love and genuine feelings, blurring the boundaries between reality and fantasy, has been making waves in Moscow recently. The prestigious theater company "Stage Entertainment" has recently introduced the Russian version of the musical Ghost to the general public in Moscow. The production is based on the legendary same-name film starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg and having received the most prestigious awards, including 5 nominations for the Oscar.
The musical Ghost is relatively new - the world premiere took place at the Manchester Opera House in 2011. The performance was a success in the West End and Broadway and won a lot of theater awards and nominations, including Tony and Laurence Olivier.
The musical was transferred to the Moscow stage by the director-choreographer Alistair David. Its Russian libretto was authored by Alexei Ivashchenko. The Rocket-Media Studio custom designed the virtual scenery specially for the Russian stage production.
The premiere of the Russian musical Ghost took place in Moscow on October 7, 2017 to become the most significant event of the theatrical season!
The plot of the stage production seems plain at first glance, but its skillful unfolding stirs truly sensitive and soul-stirring themes. According to Dmitry Bogachev, the producer and director of Stage Entertainment, the choice of such a production is not accidental. Such a sincere and spiritualizing story stands out with its life-affirming essence, which helps you understand the value of feelings and realize that love with faith is capable of breaking down any barriers and surpassing even death itself.
