Enjoy Russian Version of Ghost the Musical in Moscow

The Ghost, a cult story of true love and genuine feelings, blurring the boundaries between reality and fantasy, has been making waves in Moscow recently. The prestigious theater company "Stage Entertainment" has recently introduced the Russian version of the musical Ghost to the general public in Moscow. The production is based on the legendary same-name film starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg and having received the most prestigious awards, including 5 nominations for the Oscar.
The musical Ghost is relatively new - the world premiere took place at the Manchester Opera House in 2011. The performance was a success in the West End and Broadway and won a lot of theater awards and nominations, including Tony and Laurence Olivier.
The musical was transferred to the Moscow stage by the director-choreographer Alistair David. Its Russian libretto was authored by Alexei Ivashchenko. The Rocket-Media Studio custom designed the virtual scenery specially for the Russian stage production.
The premiere of the Russian musical Ghost took place in Moscow on October 7, 2017 to become the most significant event of the theatrical season!
The plot of the stage production seems plain at first glance, but its skillful unfolding stirs truly sensitive and soul-stirring themes. According to Dmitry Bogachev, the producer and director of Stage Entertainment, the choice of such a production is not accidental. Such a sincere and spiritualizing story stands out with its life-affirming essence, which helps you understand the value of feelings and realize that love with faith is capable of breaking down any barriers and surpassing even death itself.
Storyline
The happy family life of Sam and Molly is just beginning: the long-awaited move to a new apartment and big plans for the future... But everything changes abruptly when a robber attacks the lovers. Sam dies, and his soul is stuck between the world of the living and the dead. Having discovered, that the robbery was contrived, and Molly is in the danger of death, Sam struggles to warn his beloved one and punish the criminals. Ironically, only the extravagant swindler Oda Mae Brown, posing as a medium, can convey his message to Molly. But would the girl believe her?
Hits from Legendary Musicians
For the first time the smash hits by David Allan Stewart and Glen Ballard, Alanis Morissette and Aerosmith are sung in the Russian language. The orchestra and actors will perform the famous Unchained Melody, which became the calling card of Ghost the film and was registered in the Guinness Book of Records as the song with the most covers ever.
Complex Special Effects
With the help of unique light and multimedia equipment, technical specialists will create the illusion of levitation and presence between the two worlds on the stage.
Stars of Russian Musicals on Stage
The leading roles of lovers Molly and Sam are performed by stage and film actress Galya Bezruk, finalist of the New Wave-2016 contest, and Pavel Lyovkin, who has starred in numerous plays of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater, as well as the musicals The Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and others. The role of the mediator Oda May will be performed by Marina Ivanova, an Honored Artiste of Russia. Next to the main characters, the viewers will see the Russian stars of the musicals The Ball of Vampires, The Phantom of the Opera, Singing in the Rain, MAMMA MIA!, and others.
