Ice Musical "Ruslan and Lyudmila" Stars Figure Skating Champions

Famous figure skater Tatyana Navka presents a grandiose ice musical featuring world stars and Olympic champions of figure skating.

"Ruslan and Lyudmila" is an unprecedented show that might be the most spectacular performance in Russia and worldwide. The ice musical combines a classic storyline with cutting-edge technology and impressive 3D effects. Olympic champions, stunning music, colorful stage design, and large-scale video installations cannot but impress even the most experienced spectators. The super show inaugurates a new look at the great fairy tale by Russia’s most famous writer and poet Alexander Pushkin.

To implement the grandiose project, Tatyana Navka invited stage director Alexei Sechenov, who staged the Red Square Show for the 60th anniversary since the Victory Day, Paul McCartney's concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as other large-scale events. The show will take place on the ultra-modern arena of the Megasport Ice Palace, which makes it possible to implement the most incredible ideas.

Fantastic Champion Show
The ice musical Ruslan and Lyudmila amazes not only with its wide scope, but also with the excellence of rendition. The project author Tatyana Navka is the winner of the European Championship (three gold medals), World Cup (two gold medals), and the Olympic Games (one gold medal). The role of Ruslana will be performed by Pyotr Chernyshev, who is a five-time champion of the USA, and the holder of two gold medals of four continents. In addition, the musical stars Margarita Drobiazko, Povilas Vanagas, Philip Candeloro and other figure skaters famous all over the world.

It took more than a year to prepare the project. In total, more than 1500 specialists were involved, among them experts in the field of scenography, stage engineering, choreography, and graphic design. Over eight tons of scenery was created altogether. Spectators will see numerous special effects, including the legendary giant talking head, colorful 3D projections, characters flying over the arena, fireworks and stunning stage costumes.

Very Important Participants of the Project:

Show producer Alexei Sechenov participated in staging of the Mus TV award ceremony, Paul McCartney's concert in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the opening and closing ceremonies of the 27th World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan, etc;

Coach and choreographer Alexander Zhulin is a two-time winner of the Olympic Games in ice dancing, the mentor of the Ice Age project, and the senior coach of the Russian figure skating team;

Choreographer Igor Orshuljak is the director of ice shows of the First Channel;

Composer Roman Ignatiev is the author of music for the musicals Count of Monte Cristo, Count Orlov and Anna Karenina, as well as the ice show The Lights of the Big City and the ice musicals Carmen, and Romeo and Juliet;

"Sunny from the Moon" is a musical duo of composer Irakli Minadze and the author of vocal parts and lyrics, Alexandra Odinayeva. Since 2007, they have produced their own albums and recorded soundtracks for plays, stage productions, and musicals.
