"We came to think about the return of “Monte Cristo” after numerous requests we got from the audience nearly every day! The musical "Monte Cristo" won the hearts of the audience, and its performance unmistakably gathered full halls, toured across Russia and foreign countries with unfailing triumph. In the new theatrical season, in honor of the 10th anniversary since its premiere, we decided to give the audience an opportunity to enjoy their favorite performance again!” - Vladimir Tartakovskiy and Aleksey Bolonin, the producers of the musical note.

The stage of the Moscow Operetta Theater will have grandiose scenery-transformers, which will turn the space into a ballroom, then to the Castle of If, then to the sails of an entire armada of smugglers’ ships. The stage costumes of actors and ballet dancers combine the spirit of Alexander Dumas and modern chic of "haute couture". The image of the 19th century attires is complemented with a great many spectacular accessories: bracelets, belts, scarves, ornaments, gloves and masks. In makeup and wigs, the stage designers managed to avoid the signs of hypertheatricality and old-fashionedness, having taken care of appropriate colors, volumes and interesting textures, and caught the general, very modern mood of the stage production.
The musical will feature famous and favourite actors and singers Valeria Lanskaya, Igor Balalaev, Dmitry Ermak, Lika Rulla, Alexander Marakulin, Andrei Belyavsky, and others.

Every month, the musical “Monte Cristo” will be performed at the Moscow Operetta Theater, on the same stage that keeps on hosting the popular musical “Anna Karenina”.
