A Thousand and One Nights - Fairytale Ballet in Moscow on March 26
March 13, 2019 13:36

At the heart of the ballet libretto is a monument of medieval Arabic literature - a collection of fairy tales and parables, united by the story of Tsar Shahriyar and beautiful Scheherazade. The story takes roots in very ancient times, when the world was ruled by formidable kings, infidelity was punishable by death, and the mores of people differed from the present. Shahriyar will spend a thousand and one nights in the mesmerizing realm of the tales told by Scheherazade, before his mind overcomes hatred and he regains faith in love and goodness.
