November 6, 2019 10:18

A magical story of true love, kindness and true beauty after the book by Sergei Aksakov will be performed as a spectacular high-tech ice show in Moscow from November 6 to 10The popular ice show "The Scarlet Flower" will resume the thread for a short time at the request of the audience. The world premiere of the project took place at the Megasport Sports Palace in Moscow on December 27, 2018. Together with Olympic champion Tatyana Navka, the producer and leading woman, world-famous skaters worked on the production.

The Megasport arena is going to host five shows of the ice musical by prominent ice dancers and music stars. The show based on the old Russian tale authored by Sergei Aksakov was released last winter to gain immense popularity. At the request of the audience, it was decided to relaunch it for a short while.

The new project of the famous Russian figure skating champion Tatyana Navka fabulously combines the professionalism of world-class skaters and the latest video and audio effects, as well as stunning music composed specifically for this show.

"The Scarlet Flower", first ever translated to an ice show, is an updated version of the Russian folk tale, which has won the hearts of several generations in Russia. I want to show the audience what enormous opportunities and potential lie in the genre of ice performance. Having preserved the classic theme and the well-known plot, we will show “The Scarlet Flower” in new colors and in an unusual interpretation,”
- the producer and female lead of the project, Tatyana Navka, said.

Together with Tatyana Navka, “The Scarlet Flower” features world stars of figure skating, including the five-time US champion and two-time winner of the Four Continents championship in ice dancing Peter Chernyshev, European champions, prize-winners of the world championships in pair skating Yuko Kavaguchi and Alexander Smirnov, two-time medalist of the Winter Olympic Games and World and European Championships, Olympic champion Victor Petrenko, medalist of the World and European Championships Arthur Gachinsky and many other famous figure skaters.
In the show, they perform the most complicated stunts against the backdrop of the scenery, striking the imagination of even the most sophisticated viewers.

“The Scarlet Flower” is a unique project combining figure skating and music. Vocal parts in the show are voiced by the best singers of Russia, including Philip Kirkorov, Nikolai Baskov, Ani Lorak, Grigory Leps, Alexander Panayotov and other most popular contemporary performers.

The show was staged by director Alexei Sechenov, famous for his large-scale projects, such as Paul McCartney’s Russian performances. The music for the show was composed by Sergey Kovalsky, whose songs are in the repertoire of Russian pop music stars such as Larisa Dolina, Valentina Tolkunova, Sergey Penkin, and the Turetsky Choir.

The most state-of-the-art visual technologies and special effects, including fire on ice, are engaged in the show. Acrobatic feats on a suspended platform, flying high above the ground, as well as skating with closed eyes are stunning.
In total, the project was worked on by over one and a half thousand professionals - stage designers, theater engineers, choreographers, graphic designers, costumers and more.
